Spell of Success
I’m always excited by EW’s coverage of the Harry Potter films (”Phoenix Rising”). As beloved as the books are, the films have garnered their own following. They have translated richly and will be classics in their own right.

One Moore Thing
You can add one more pair of characters to the parallel universe formed by The Mary Tyler Moore Show and 30 Rock (Television): Phyllis Lindstrom and Jenna Maroney — both questionably blond with a mistakenly superior air.

Mining ‘Field’
”How to Bury a Book” (The Pop of King) was dead-on. How many Fieldworks are out there? Probably millions…that will go unread if there aren’t more people like Stephen King to announce their existence to the reading public.

‘Natural’ Choice
I enjoyed your bit about great baseball movies (DVD). However, I was surprised when I got to the end without seeing The Natural on your list. Who doesn’t get all teary-eyed when Roy Hobbs knocks it out of the park at the end?

Jonesing for Spike
Thanks for the update on the Buffy gang (News & Notes), but what about James Marsters? While his character Spike wasn’t in the pilot, his contribution to the series was undeniable. I’ll just provide his update myself: Marsters has a recurring role on Smallville as Professor Milton Fine, and he’s set to appear on the big screen in P.S., I Love You with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. There, I feel much better now.

Well, hello, Dolly Obsessive Fan of the Week! Solomon Willis of Cherryville, N.C., it’s so nice to have you here where you belong. And what qualifies Solomon? We think the combination of more than ”300 CDs, 300 framed pictures, and 100 visits to Dollywood” suffices. Not to mention ”Dolly plates, Dolly dolls, a Dolly trash can, and a Dolly pinball machine.” If you still disagree with our selection, we beg your Parton.
