CONCEPT Law & Order‘s Angie Harmon leads a quartet of female friends — cop! lawyer! coroner! reporter! — who help each other catch killers.

THE SCOOP It’s based on James Patterson’s best-selling book series, which helped snag Harmon for cop Lindsay Boxer. ”Every time you get on a plane, every single person has one,” she says. ”The chapters are two and three pages long — you can get through six chapters in an hour.” The women will hunt killers while juggling — what’s this? — personal issues, including Harmon’s unresolved feelings for her ex-husband/police lieutenant (Rob Estes). ”Please, not to take anything away from my experience on Law & Order, but I don’t want to be the talking head that’s just reciting stories for the audience,” she says. ”I want to be a character.”

BOTTOM LINE Harmon’s charming, and so’s this unwinky show — one of our guilty pleasures of the season.
