Genre: R&B, Reggae/Ska; Lead Performer: Wayne Wonder

Wayne Wonder scored his only U.S. hit with 2003’s ”No Letting Go” by layering honeyed melodies over an infectious dancehall riddim. On Foreva, the Jamaican singer blandly attempts to reclaim that crossover appeal with tunes like ”For My Love,” a run-of-the-mill reggae-rap collaboration with Trina. His vocals ultimately find a more natural frequency on subtler strings-and-synths offerings (”Love and Affection”) — not to mention a host of randier paeans to romance (”Take It Off,” ”Exposed”) that still manage to evoke a sweetness often lacking in R&B.
