We gave it an A-
At first, this Michigan trio’s soft, fuzzy electronica may seem like a hard sell, even to fans of the overtly synthetic. It’s too languidly paced for dance music, and there are no Kid A-style futurist vocals to draw you in. Fortunately, while the beats flutter and fidget, Dusker ultimately hit as heavily as anything a nightclub might offer. Amid Kiln‘s trippy soundscapes, guitars and keyboards echo and distort until they are barely distinguishable from the soothing whole. A human voice would just be superfluous.
