Discovered two years ago in a secret vault, Live at the Avalon Ballroom 1969, a two-CD live set features Parsons, the late country-rock trailblazer, at his prime. Newbies can enjoy pristinely preserved favorites like ”Sin City” and ”Hot Burrito #1,” as diehards go gaga over newly uncovered material, including an acid-trippy version of Mel Tillis’ ”(Sweet) Mental Revenge.” Heck, for enthusiasts, the bonus track alone — a sparse demo of ”Thousand Dollar Wedding” — was worth the 38-year wait.
