(FROM THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE) ? Tejano superstar Emilio Navaira remained in critical condition at a Houston hospital on Monday morning (March 24) after his tour bus crashed into a traffic barrier early on Sunday. The Grammy-winning artist was thrown through the bus’ windshield and suffered life-threatening head injuries. Navaira had surgery on Sunday to remove a blood clot in his head, according to his agent. Police aren’t yet sure how the driver lost control of the bus. Navaira, 45, and his band Rio have released more than a dozen albums, including Acuerdate, which won the Best Tejano Album Grammy in 2003. His latest record, De Nuevo, was released last September.
