3 Doors Down

Genre: Rock

The video for 3 Doors Down’s ”It’s Not My Time” follows a practitioner of parkour — a sport involving the swift surmounting of physical obstacles — as he races to avert a traffic accident. If only the song were as fleet of foot. In fact, much of the pop-metalers’ fifth CD titled 3 Doors Down is overwrought: ”I left myself behind/Somewhere along the way/Hoping…to find myself someday,” Brad Arnold sings on the predictably crescendoing ”Let Me Be Myself.” But 3 Doors do, at times, hit their stride. ”Runaway” boasts an instantly hummable chorus, while the Aerosmith-styled ”Train” manages a nice swagger.
