Rob Riggle bids farewell to 'The Daily Show'

Last night was a bittersweet one for fans of The Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle, who’s moving on from the program after two very funny years. The former U.S. Marine told Jon Stewart his immediate plans involve wandering the world and fighting crime with his fists; in fact, Variety has previously reported that he’s developing a sitcom of some sort for CBS. (Maybe it’s a sitcom about a bulky-built ex-Marine who wanders the world fighting crime? I would probably watch that!)

Riggle’s send-off is below, in case you missed it, and a couple of my favorite Riggle moments over the years are after the jump. Anyone else gonna miss the big guy? And who do you think should replace him on The Daily Show?

In May 2007, Riggle ripped apart the Bush Administration’s pattern of stonewalling Congressional investigations:

And in August ‘07, he actually traveled to Iraq, where he took on Rep. Mike Pence’s assertion that a square in Baghdad is “like a normal outdoor market in Indiana in the summertime.” Some legitimately damning on-the-ground reporting, plus some sex toy jokes — what more could you want?:
