It’s to Little Britain USA‘s credit that the U.K. sketch show retained most of creator/stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams’ wicked genius in its move to the U.S. (and HBO). LBUSA resurrects old favorites like mincing political hanger-on Sebastian (giving him a distinctly Obamaesque president to molest). Strangely, it’s the newer characters (potty-mouthed cherub Ellie Grace comes to mind) who seem stale. Don’t look for insight in the scant EXTRAS. Commentary tracks and deleted scenes can’t explain why the comedy-export business is still so tricky. B
