The Secret Policeman's Balls

Genre: Comedy; Starring: John Cleese, Peter Cook; Runtime (in minutes): 510; MPAA Rating: Unrated

In the 1970s and ’80s, the cream of British ? comedic talent (plus rock stars such as Sting and Phil Collins) appeared in a series of live benefit concerts for Amnesty ?International that ?usually featured the words secret, policeman’s, and ball in the title. Some of the material in The Secret Policeman’s Balls, a three-DVD round-up of those performances, is dated or overly ?parochial (or both). But a hilarious 1976 version ?of Monty Python’s “Dead Parrot” sketch makes this most iconic of ?skits seem fresh. Unless, ? apparently, you’re ? Parrot-eer John Cleese, who groans, “Oh, God…” when shown the skit during a 2004 documentary featured among the extras. B
