'Quarterlife' creators to pen a series for CBS

Quarterlife creators Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick are plotting their return to primetime. Herskovitz has told EW.com exclusively that the team behind Once & Again and thirtysomething sold a drama script to CBS that focuses on a marriage that works. “I still can’t tell you too much,” Herskovitz said while walking the red carpet of the Producers Guild Awards on Jan. 24. “We are hoping to get it in under the wire so we can make it on in the fall. It is just life. We got rid of genre a long time ago. We try to talk about life and not focus on things like [hospitals] or cops.”

Herskovitz has said that he and Zwick plan to continue producing websides of quarterlife, their Internet show about a twentysomething blogger (Bitsie Tulloch). Although NBC canceled it after one week last February, the webisodes averaged a robust 300,000 viewers. (Additional reporting by Carrie Bell)
