Mel Gibson debuts 'The Colonel' on 'Kimmel' (and denies ever saying 'sugar t---')

Tom Cruise wasn’t the only one having fun with Jimmy Kimmel last night. If you caught Mel Gibson’s two-part interview (part 1, embedded after the jump), you saw him deny ever having used the word “sugar tits” (I was as saddened by that as Jimmy was). He also debuted the trailer for his “new film,” The Colonel (below). We won’t spoil the surprise, so we’ll discuss if after the jump.

First of all, I think we’re all happy to know that there was a reason for Mel’s devilish facial hair. (I have the sudden urge to see him do a Western with Ian McShane. Seriously, their intensities and mustaches would be a perfect match.) Secondly, the biggest laugh for me was that chicken riding the horse. I don’t think this means that I’m not ready to see a Mel Gibson movie again (I’m sure I’d laugh if Bird on a Wire were to be playing on cable right now). I think it means that this peace-offering publicity stunt could’ve/should’ve been funnier.

Are you ready for a Gibson comeback now?
