Yeah Yeah Yeahs' new 'Zero' video: What do you think?

You may already have heard that the NYC art-rockers’ latest record was bumped from an April 14 release to March 10. Why? As they put it themselves on their website: “The cat’s out of the bag after It’s Blitz! escaped from our clutches into the big bad world last week…Leaks are NO FUN but it’s out of our hands.”

That means the new video for lead single “Zero” (one of five new spring tracks we recently wrote up) drops only a day before the album does, digitally. It’s exclusive to AOL’s Spinner blog for now, so you can watch the clip here. It’s a pretty straightforward performance piece, basically “all the world’s a stage,” with Karen O and Co. taking the song to the nighttime streets of San Francisco. But O tells Spinner that two of her personal favorite videos are the all-time icon “Thriller” (not embeddable, but you can always watch it on YouTube) and Bjork’s nouveau-classic “All Is Full of Love” (embedded below). Clearly, “Zero” is not in the same category of either wildly ambitious clip, but can you sense the influence anywhere in the YYYs catalog? What do you think of “Zero”? Does it have you psyched for the new record?
