Ratings: 'The Mentalist' repeat fares well against 'American Idol'

As expected, a two-hour American Idol triumphed on Tuesday as the top 13 did their best to vaguely imitate Michael Jackson. Meanwhile, a repeat of CBS’ The Mentalist pulled in a very impressive 14.2 million viewers – a 10 percent bump over the audience for last week’s repeat, which also aired against Idol. Like last week, The Biggest Loser: Couples had less viewers than usual during its 8-9 p.m. hour, but did increase viewership by 15 percent over its second hour.
