Tupac Shakur's mother to sue Morgan Creek over biopic rights

Tupac Shakur’s mother, Afeni, is set to file a $10 million cross-complaint this morning against Morgan Creek, claiming the film company tried to coerce a deal for movie rights to the slain rapper’s life, then sabotage the deal when she brought it elsewhere, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Morgan Creek filed a lawsuit last month in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Afeni’s Amaru Entertainment of backing out of an agreement to sell the rights for a Tupac biopic; Amaru alleges that there was no final agreement and that it was entertaining offers from several companies, including Paramount, Fox Searchlight, Kennedy/Marshall andBrett Ratner’s Rat Entertainment.
