Ratings: 'American Idol' edges out CBS mainstays on Tuesday

Total viewership for last night’s American Idol performance show was down 7 percent from last Tuesday and down 16 percent from performance night’s special Wednesday airing two weeks ago, but Fox still pulled out a narrow win over CBS. The second episode of ABC’s new romance series Cupid lost 18 percent of last week’s premiere viewership – a bit of a bigger drop than anticipated (networks expect around 10-15 percent drop from the first outing).
