Ratings: 'American Idol' gives Fox another Tuesday win

Although CBS offered some competition with a night of new episodes, Fox remained on top Tuesday thanks to American Idol. Yes, TV’s No. 1 program was down about 1.5 million viewers from last week, but it was by far the night’s most-watched program. CBS’ The Mentalist was the evening’s second-most popular show, followed closely by its lead-in, NCIS.
