'Billy Elliot' leads Tony nominations

Billy Elliot, The Musical received a record-tying 15 nominations for the 2009 Tony Awards Tuesday morning. It’s joined in the Best Musical category by Next to Normal, Rock of Ages, and Shrek The Musical. Former American Idol contestant Constantine Maroulis received a nod for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for Rock of Ages, while Will Ferrell’s You’re Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush was recognized in the Best Special Theatrical Event category.
