If you don’t have your summer reading list finalized yet, fret not. Let’s read Infinite Jest. Not just for the sake of  cultural literacy — also because there’s a Fancy Internet website that’s dubbed the endeavor “Infinite Summer.” Quoth said project: “You’ve been meaning to do it for over a decade. Now join endurance bibliophiles from around the Web as we tackle and comment upon David Foster Wallace’s masterwork, June 21st to September 22nd. A thousand pages ÷ 93 days = 75 pages a week. No sweat.” Truth.

I really have been meaning to read IJ for years, plus I’m a sucker for anything backed by The Morning News, one of my all-time favorite sites.

Who’s with me, PopWatchers? Are there other new classics you’ve been putting off? Am I alone on liking this sort of communal reading experience that’s not quite a book club so I don’t have to make small talk?
