According to billboard.com, Tenacious D, the comic-rock band consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, will step in for the Beastie Boys as headliners on August 30 at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The Beastie Boys had to cancel their scheduled appearance due to Adam Yauch’s battle with cancer. Black told reporters in a confrence call Thursday that Tenacious D’s performance will “may shake the foundations of the…San Andreas (Fault) and California may be shaken loose from the rest of the country.” Meanwhile, Beastie Boy Yauch sent an email to fans to say he is “rapidly recovering” from surgery, CNN reported.
