Charlie Daniels suffers 'mild stroke'

Musician Charlie Daniels (“The Devil Went Down to Georgia”) suffered a mild stroke on Friday, while he was snowmobiling near Durango, Colo. The Associated Press reports that the famous fiddler received medical attention at a local hospital but then had to be airlifted to a Denver hospital. He was released on Sunday and is now recuperating at his home near Durango. A statement on his web site says he doesn’t plan to miss any scheduled concert dates, beginning with his Feb. 27 show in Ft. Pierce, Fla. Calls to his representatives weren’t immediately returned.
