Variety reports that director Mike Newell is attached to write and direct a still-untitled feature about the unsolved death of ex-KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko who was poisoned by polonium-210 in 2006 and blamed former Russian President Vladimir Putin before he died. The project is set up at Warner Bros. and is based on the book The Terminal Spy by The New York Times‘ Alan Cowell.
