Antonio Banderas has been named a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations, Reuters is reporting. The Spanish actor will be using his celebrity to draw attention to the Millennium Development Goals program, which is aimed at halving world poverty over the next five years. “Poverty robs us of our potential as people, preventing us from being all that we can be,” Banderas said in a statement.
