No, not that The Runaways. I’m talking about the comic book series penned by Y: The Last Man genius Brian K. Vaughan.

I have never read the comic book series, but I’m intrigued by the project, mostly because it’s being described as “The Breakfast Club with superheroes.” I’m now imagining what kind of stupid human trick Molly Ringwald could have pulled off with a tube of lipstick had she possessed telekinesis in addition to her other cleavage-centric talents. I would have been so much more impressed! (But then again, there would have been no movie, since the Breakfast Club kids would have just walked through the library walls to freedom, no?)

Either way, Sollett seems a smart choice, since Nick and Norah proved he could pull off angst. But will there be enough Vampire Weekend to fill out Runaways’ soundtrack? Of course, there’s still the cast to consider. Which young actors do you think would good fits for Nico, Chase & Co?
