This Week on Stage: Elvis lives...on Broadway

million_dollar_quartet

EW’s Clark Collis gives the show a B-, noting, “One can’t help wondering if the City of Sin would also be a better venue for this lightweight show.”

Meanwhile, producers announced plans to bring South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s first stage musical, The Book of Mormon, to Broadway next March. Robert Lopez, who co-created Avenue Q, assisted on the duo on the book, music, and lyrics. With the Phantom sequel and the Spider-Man musical already in the works, next season is looking to be very interesting indeed.
