Russell (I Heart Huckabees) has backed out of Nailed, a political satire/comedy starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel. Russell’s withdrawal was prompted by undisclosed disagreements between him and financier Ronald Tutor, but I feel a journalistic responsibility to present to you the following sentence pairing from THR’s report in all of its (unintentionally?) hilarious glory:

The movie is about a small-town waitress who is shot in the head by a nail gun and later goes to Washington to fight for better health care; there, she meets a clueless congressman, and a romance develops.

“This has been a painful process for me,” Russell told THR on Tuesday.

I’m also excited to report that Nailed is responsible for the creation of popular category “Dude, THAT’S Your Plot?” Yay! It’s fun to flip back in the PopWatch history book and see where your greasy finger lands. But, sorry about the news. The movie is apparently still happening.
