Emmy predictions: Here's who'll win best drama and comedy series

If you are engaged in a little friendly competition with your friends about who’ll take home two of the biggest prizes during this Sunday’s Emmy awards, you’ve come to the right place. I think I’ve figured out who’s going to win. See if you agree with me.

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES
Breaking Bad
Dexter
The Good Wife
Lost
Mad Men
True Blood

Will win Lost. I think

Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Mad Men deserve it more, but I’m betting Emmy voters won’t resist giving Lost a prize send-off.

Possible upset Mad Men, the now-perennial go-to show for an Emmy, and deservedly so. Just not as much as Breaking Bad deserves it. Or Dexter.

Shoulda been contenders Friday Night Lights, of course! Also: Fringe, Justified, Sons of Anarchy

OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES
30 Rock
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Glee
Modern Family
Nurse Jackie
The Office

Will win Modern Family. How can the best, most popular new sitcom not win this one? Congrats in advance.

Possible upset Glee. You never know – voters may go for the other new show that has buzz.

Shoulda been contenders Better Off Ted, Parks and Recreation, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

There you have it. If you combine my “will win” picks with my “possible upsets,” I’ve been averaging well above 50% in picking winners. Now you take your stand, and let me know who you think will win. Thanks.
