Charges dropped in Travolta extortion case

A judge in the Bahamas has dropped charges against two people accused of attempting to extort $25 million from John Travolta, the Associated Press reports. Pleasant Bridgewater and Tarino Lightbourne were charged with trying to release information about the 2009 death of Travolta and wife Kelly Preston’s 16-year-old son, Jett. The judge dismissed the case after prosecutor Neil Braithwaite submitted a motion on behalf of the actor to drop the charges. “The Travolta family has said that this matter has caused them unbelievable stress and pain and they wish to put this whole thing behind them,” Braithwaite said.
