Fall TV Preview: Survivor: Nicaragua

Returning reality, 8-9PM, CBS

The move back to Wednesday isn’t all that’s new this season:

OLD VS. YOUNG
Dividing up tribes by age has actually been done once before, on Survivor: Panama. ”The truth is, you get a show that runs as long as this one, you have to repeat,” says host Jeff Probst.

MEDALLION OF POWER
”The Medallion of Power is designed to give you power at challenges,” explains Probst. ”And the twist is that if you use it, the other tribe can use it at the next challenge.” Fine, but must it sound like the name of an ’80s metal band?

CELEBRITY SURVIVOR
Two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Jimmy Johnson becomes the show’s most high-profile contestant. But he’ll be missing two of his best friends from home: ”Beer and ice cream,” laments the coach. ”That’s going to drive me nuts!” SEPT. 15
