Twentieth Century Fox won a bidding war – the mind reels – for a Mamma Mia!-style movie set to the music of the Beach Boys. Stamos, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron are producing, and Susannah Grant is set to write the script, according to Variety.
I’d be astonished if the movie is set somewhere other than California, and I guess if you’re going to turn someone’s catalog into a narrative, it might as well be a band with hundreds of songs that cover a staggering range of emotions. Pet Sounds alone could support a narrative arc. The question of whether it should support one, however, remains.

Do you feel so broke up, PopWatchers? Or has everyone gone surfing? And, Full House fans, remember this?
