Jesse Eisenberg still hasn’t come face to face with Mark Zuckerberg, the 26 year-old Facebook CEO he portrays in The Social Network. But the two have a close connection: Eisenberg’s cousin, who works side by side with Zuckerberg at Facebook.
“My first cousin Eric, kind of works at the next desk over [from Zuckerberg] at Facebook,” says Eisenberg, who used his cousin as a model for his Social Network character. “He has the greatest things to say about him personally and professionally.”
Eisenberg says he’d love to use his family connection to get an audience with Zuckerberg someday. “I’m hoping my cousin could facilitate a meeting,” says Eisenberg. “We really don’t have much to say to each other, and yet, of course, there’s so much to say.”
