Beastie Boys reveal updated 'Hot Sauce Committee' title, release plan

Beastie-BoysImage Credit: Nathaniel HornblowerThe Beastie Boys are still working on the spicy project that was sidelined by Adam “MCA” Yauch’s cancer treatment last year.

The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees revealed today that they plan to release an album titled Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 next spring, instead of Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, which was once expected this fall. It remains unclear whether there will be any tracklist overlap between Part 2 and the previously announced Part 1.

The Beasties’ cryptically worded statement in full: “Although we regret to inform you that Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 will continue to be delayed indefinitely, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will be released on time as originally planned in spring of 2011.”

Hot Sauce will be the Beasties’ first album since 2007’s instrumental The Mix-Up. Looking forward hearing it? Let us know in comments.
