Charlie Sheen hospitalized after Plaza Hotel disturbance

Police were called to New York’s Plaza Hotel early this morning, after an allegedly intoxicated and naked Charlie Sheen trashed his suite, according to People and newspaper reports. The actor was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital. A spokesperson for the NYPD said that cops did respond to a call at 1:30 a.m. and removed a 45-year-old male. The spokesperson could not confirm whether or not the male was clothed, but said that no charges were filed. Sheen’s spokesperson told EW, via email, that he believed the actor “had an adverse allergic reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital.” On Aug. 30, an Aspen court ordered Sheen to spend 30 days in a rehabilitation facility after he pled guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge which stemmed from a Christmas Day argument with his wife Brooke Mueller.

UPDATE: The Associated Press reports that Sheen was hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation following the incident.
