'Harry Potter': Watch Emma Watson age before your very eyes!


Harry-Potter-Morph_hermioneHow did Emma Watson land the coveted role of Hermione Granger? “Well, it’s a bit of a random story,” she told EW in Dec. 2001, after Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone had become a bone fide blockbuster. “Some people came round to my school in Oxfordshire and said, ‘Do you have anyone who would like to audition?’ So I had an audition at my school. I think I ended up doing, like, definitely over five auditions. My dad told me, ‘You know, you do realize there are going to be, like, a thousand girls auditioning.’ And I was kind of like, ‘Oh, OK…I’ll, um, keep that in mind.’ I tried to enjoy it instead of desperately trying for it.”

Part of the genuine thrill of the Potter films have been watching its three stars grow up before us on the big screen, in real time. But it’s easy to forget just how young they really were when they first started out. So we used some fancy computer age wizardry to, well, transmaturate Miss Watson from when she was a wee 11 years old to her current age of 20 in the final film(s) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
