The most glaring reason for my confusion is the decision to peg this TV project a “remake.” The only thing it seems to have in common with the Michael J. Fox classic is that the main character is a sports-playing teenage wolf. That’s about it. The main character, Scott (played by Tyler Posey), becomes a werewolf after being bitten (not as a result of his genetics), he isn’t charmingly adorable in his werewolf form, and (the greatest offense) he plays lacrosse!
Had they set the remake label aside, perhaps I’d be more forgiving and be able to view the show as a standalone series – one that by the looks of it is a little Twilight, a little Vampire Diaries, and very much not my cup of tea. I’ll give it a chance, though. I hopped on the TVD train a little late because I was afraid it was like Twilight. (It was not in the least bit!) I’d hate to once again miss out on something compelling because I didn’t give it a shot. Check it out and see for yourself:

What do you think, PopWatchers? Does the “remake” tag bother you? (What’s so wrong about standing alone?) What’s your first impression? And will you tune in?
