Cake exclusive: Stream a track from their comeback album now!

So it’s fitting that Showroom of Compassion, the California alt-rockers’ first full-length since 2004, will feature a song called “Long Time.” The album won’t be out til Jan. 11, 2011, but we just so happen to have an exclusive stream of “Long Time” right here on the Music Mix.

Click through to the jump to hear “Long Time” now. It’s vintage Cake, with festive brass, chipper synths, and itchy guitars accompanying lead singer John McCrea’s deadpan vocals.

Snappy little tune, no? If you like it, consider pre-ordering Showroom of Compassion from Cake’s official site. Then let us know whether you’re looking forward to fresh Cake in January.
