see the full list here), everyone has their favorites. In the movies category, I’m pulling for James Franco. (Sorry, Colin Firth, still love you!) As adventure seeker Aron Ralston in 127 Hours, Franco found himself alone on screen for much of the movie, and yet, it was just as compelling as an ensemble of impressive actors (See: The Kids Are All Right). And I need not go into detail about the gritty arm amputation scene, which was as gripping as it was utterly disgusting, in the best possible way.The Screen Actors Guild Awards are tonight, PopWatchers. On the TV side, many of the nominees in major categories have earned acclaim and trophies before, which, to me, lowers the stakes a bit. I’d love to see Ty Burrell walk away with a win here. With a host of nominations under his belt, it’d be nice for him to get what he deserves for his performances as earnest goofball Phil Dunphy. Yes, his rivals in the comedy actor category are also outstanding, but as Phil would say, forgive me for thinking his zesty performance deserves some praise.
Your turn, readers. Who are you pulling for tonight?
The Screen Actors Guild Awards airs on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m.
