The Fox overlords blessed Human Target with an American Idol lead-in Wednesday evening and the action drama perked up, somewhat, thanks to the added attention.

Target (9.3 million viewers, 2.6 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) climbed 24 percent to a season high after a down-slightly Idol (24.8 million, 8.9), though the Target number is still a steep drop from its lead-in. Also, Target was beaten in the 9 p.m. hour by… wait, am I reading this right?

NBC’s two-hour Minute to Win It (6.2 million, 2.4), which tied its series high and climbed to an impressive 3.0 in its second hour (a family got all the way through to the very last challenge, but did not win the million bucks; NBC sighed with relief). At 10 p.m., SVU (8.8 million, 2.9) matched its best number since premiere week and won 10 p.m.

ABC had repeats, Cougar Town (6.6 million, 2.7) was up 27 percent, and Off the Map (5.3 million, 1.8) held steady. CBS aired a flat Live to Dance (4.8 million, 1.0), a repeat, and then Blue Bloods (11.2 million, 1.6), tying its season low. CW had repeats.
