Behold, the first still of Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher in the upcoming biopic The Iron Lady. The film reteams Streep with her Mamma Mia! director Phyllida Lloyd and focuses on the 17 days leading up to the 1982 Falklands War.

Pearl necklaces and button earrings will make anyone look like a politician — see: every impression of Hillary Clinton, ever — but it takes a special kind of talent to hold one’s face in a stress position for an entire movie. Meryl Streep! She can do everything.

It’s almost like elaborate make-up and fake teeth can really transform someone’s appearance, PopWatchers. But I’m still really impressed by how convincingly not Meryl Streep-y this photo seems. Aren’t you?
