The new cut has about 34 minutes of new footage, including a new introduction, a new performance with Willow Smith, more versions of “Baby,” and fan testimonials from the initial screenings. “I realized I had an embarrassment of riches when I was in the cutting room,” said director Jon M. Chu, in a statement. “This cut allows me to retain some of the best scenes from the original movie, while incorporating previously unseen footage and new material I shot during our extensive promotional tour on behalf of the movie.”

About 22 minutes of the original film have been removed, making the Director’s Fan Cut 115 minutes long. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Director’s Fan Cut will open this Friday in 3-D theaters across North America, while the original film will continue to play on normal 2-D screens.
