Mark Ruffalo’s Oscar nomination, for The Kids Are All Right, was a long time coming. His directorial debut has been in the works for nearly as long. Sympathy for Delicious debuted at Sundance last year, where it won a special jury prize, but Ruffalo and the film’s star, Christopher Thornton, spent a full decade putting the project together.
