DJ Megatron, a popular hip-hop radio personality who frequently appeared on BET’s 106 & Park television program, was shot and killed early this morning near his home in Staten Island, according to the Associated Press. Police said the 32-year old deejay, born Corey McGriff, was found dead around 2 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his chest. No arrests have been made.

Megatron made a name for himself on the radio, starring at several high-profile stations, including New York’s Kiss FM. He appeared in a few movies, including State Property 2 (2005), and he was father of three children. “He probably had one of the best personalities around – super-positive, happy all the time,” Justin Kirkland, Megatron’s manager, told the AP.
