Six major Hollywood studios have joined together to sue Zediva for copyright infringement, claiming that the online movie-rental site is streaming movies without permission. The movie website launched in mid-March and offers recent DVD releases for as little as $1 per film. According to the complaint, posted on Wired.com, the studios are asking for monetary damages — including $150,000 for every movie Zediva streamed — and an immediate injunction against the website.
