The images coming out of Joplin, Mo., following Sunday’s tornado that left at least 89 dead — the highest death toll for a single tornado in the U.S. since 1953 — are beyond devastating. No one can fault The Weather Channel’s Mike Bettes, who arrived in Joplin 10 minutes after the twister, for being overcome and fighting back tears on camera. The morning shows continued coverage today. Watch the story unfold in the clips below. To help, text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 toward relief efforts, or visit www.RedCross.org.
