May 13, 2011, was a historic date for both raunchy comedies and baked goods. Why? Because that’s when the cast of American Reunion gathered in L.A. to read through the script of the first big-screen American Pie movie since 2003’s American Wedding. ”It was so much fun,” says Alyson Hannigan, who hammed it up before the table read alongside costars Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott. (The entire Pie gang — including Tara Reid, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, and Chris Klein — will be reprising their roles.) ”I had tears streaming down my face from laughter for most of the photos. Seann had me in stitches.”
As for the plot of American Reunion (expected to hit theaters April 6, 2012), Biggs says that ”shenanigans” ensue after his and Hannigan’s now-married characters return to East Great Falls for a visit. But will those shenanigans — which are being written and directed by Harold & Kumar franchise overlords Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg — involve pie? ”I can tell you that a pie will be, at the very least, mentioned,” says Biggs.
