Columbia to remake 'Big Man Japan'

Columbia Pictures has optioned remake and sequel rights to the 2007 Japanese movie, Big Man Japan, and hired Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (Clash of the Titans) to write a screenplay. The original movie, directed by Hitoshi Matsumoto, tells the story of an accident-prone head of the Department of Monster Prevention, who uses electricity to grow 10 stories tall to protect the citizenry from Godzilla-sized creatures.
