Mandate Pictures has confirmed that Seth Rogen will team up with some of his old stoner friends for a cinematic trip to the Rasta capital of the world. Rogen and his Pineapple Express co-executive producer Evan Goldberg will team up again for Jamaica, a Will Reiser-penned comedy that will be loosely based on a vacation that Reiser took with his grandmother when he was 14. In Mandate’s release, Reiser says that the film will be “something of a passion project” for him, and Mandate says the project is already on the fast track. The Wackness director Jonathan Levine is attached to direct, while Rogen and Goldberg will once again produce via their Point Grey Pictures production banner.

The Jamaica team recently collaborated on 50/50, another semi-autobiographical Reiser flick that stars Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The cancer dramedy is set for release on September 30, 2011.
