FX announces premiere dates for 'Sons,' 'Sunny,' 'American Horror Story,' and more

Mark your calendars: FX has announced its fall premiere schedule:

Sons of Anarchy returns Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. ET with the first of 13 episodes. It’ll be a special 90-minute season 4 opener.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns Sept. 15 at 10 p.m. ET for its 13-episode seventh season. Story lines: The Gang prepares for the apocalypse, hits the beach at the Jersey Shore, produces a child beauty pageant (!), and takes a walk down memory lane at their high school reunion.

American Horror Story, the new drama from Nip/Tuck and Glee’s Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, premieres Oct. 5, and will air Wednesdays at 10 p.m ET. Stars include Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, Jessica Lange, and Denis O’Hare.

• The League kicks off its third season on Oct. 6 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

• In advance of its official season 3 launch in early 2012, Archer will get a special three-week run with new episodes Sept. 15, 22, and 29, at 10:30 ET behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to court new viewers.

As for FX’s summer shows: Rescue Me airs its series finale Sept. 7, while Wilfred and Louie wrap their seasons on Sept. 8.
