'Homeland' at Comic-Con: Here's a sneak peek

Homeland

(Showtime)

Anyone who’s missing the mastermind behind 24 may want to check out Homeland, the latest drama from Jack Bauer scribe Howard Gordon that’s based on the Israeli format Prisoner of War. It debuts after Dexter on Oct. 2.

It’s a pretty heavy drama for Comic-Con but hey, it features V’s Morena Baccarin, who was there to greet her fans Thursday. Here’s Gordon on the drama that also stars Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin: “This is premiering 10 years after the events of 9/11,” Gordon told the crowd. “The show reflects that it’s a very different world we lived in from 10 years ago. We have the opportunity to handle some of the complexities of where we find ourselves. 24 was wish-fulfillment, this is taking Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, privacy and national security and the complexities of all those things. Who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy? Who is the hero? Who is the traitor? We are asking in a more nuanced way than I ever got to ask than 24.”
