Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph, 39, gave birth to a son, Jack, on July 3 in Los Angeles with There Will Be Blood director Paul Thomas Anderson, 41. The couple have two other children: Pearl, 5, and Lucille, 20 months.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day, 35, and his wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Day, 32, are expecting their first child in December. The couple wed in 2006.

TV personalities Jesse James, 42, and Kat Von D, 29, have called off their six-month-long engagement.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, 25, filed a suit on July 22 accusing her mother, Constance Meester, 54, of misusing funds sent to pay for a sibling’s medical expenses and then threatening a multimillion-dollar lawsuit if the actress did not support her for life. Her mother, who denies all wrongdoing, countersued July 25, demanding $3 million in damages for unpaid management services…. The lawsuit filed by photographer David LaChapelle, 48, against Rihanna, 23, in February claiming that the pop diva had re-created his photos in her ”S&M” music video is moving to trial. On July 20, a federal judge dismissed many allegations, but found LaChapelle’s claims of copyright infringement substantial.

Greek filmmaker Michael Cacoyannis, best known for directing 1964’s Zorba the Greek, died July 25 in Athens at age 90…. Linda Christian, the first-ever Bond girl, died on July 22 in Palm Desert, Calif., at age 87. Christian, who had been battling colon cancer, portrayed Valerie Mathis in the 1954 TV production of Casino Royale opposite Barry Nelson as James Bond.
